Overview
Coinbase is back at it with a new video, and this one's all about simplicity and connection. The structure? Classic – an intro, five types of animations, and a neat outro.
But the real star of the show is Coinbase's latest feature: the ability to send money instantly through everyday apps like WhatsApp, iMessage, Snapchat, Telegram, etc. This video could easily be whipped up in a day by a savvy editor.
The genius lies in using familiar screens we all know and love. It’s like they’re saying, “Hey, you know this screen, now check out this cool new thing you can do on it.”

Music & Sound Effects Matter: They’ve got this down to an art. The music and sound effects in this video aren't just there for show – they make the whole experience satisfying to watch. It's like ear candy that keeps you hooked.
Emojis for Engagement: Tossing in emojis throughout the video isn’t just cute, it’s strategic. It keeps things light, fun, and super engaging. You can’t help but smile.
Familiar UI = Instant Connection: By using interfaces that we see daily, Coinbase bridges the gap between their new feature and our daily digital habits. It's smart – it makes this new feature feel like it's always been a part of our life.
Visuals vs. Voiceover: Coinbase opted for visuals and copy over a voiceover, and it’s a smart move. It means you get the message, sound or no sound. But if you do have the sound on, you’re treated to some relaxed, fun tunes, complete with familiar sound effects. It gives off this vibe that using their new feature is easy, fun, and seamless.
Video #2: Wrexham AFC & HP ft. Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mcelhenney
Overview
Here's a video from HP that breaks the mold, and I'm all for it.
Why? Because it's not about being perfect; it's about going over the top. And coming from a big brand like HP, that's pretty refreshing to see.
The stars of the show? Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, bringing their A-game to promote HP as the tech sponsor for Wrexham AFC. They're not just there as a celebrity face; they're delivering lines that are clearly, hilariously exaggerated – and that's the whole point.
This ad isn't about nailing down every detail of HP's tech offerings. It's about making a bold statement, about being memorable.
And let's be honest, having these two entertainers represent your brand, and in their true, comedic style? That's just brilliant.

Keep it Light: HP shows us the power of not taking your brand too seriously. Sometimes, marketing is just about getting into your customers' heads, creating a vibe. With this ad, it’s like HP is saying, "Hey, we're cool enough to do something this fun."
Risk Can Be Rewarding: This ad is a prime example of how sometimes, the risk you take is more impactful than the ad itself. It sends a message that HP isn't just another tech company; they're cool, they're fun, and they're willing to shake things up. That alone can be a huge win in building brand appeal and credibility.
Video #3: Docusign - There’s a better way
Overview
There's this ad from over a year ago but I love the concept. Why? Because it's the epitome of simplicity done right. It's a straightforward concept, but boy, does it hit the mark.
The ad walks us through all those annoying, relatable moments we face dealing with physical documents. You know the drill – rummaging through piles of paper, hunting for that one document in a filing cabinet, the endless back-and-forth with paper documents, the inevitable reprints after marking them up, the hassle of mailing them out, the headache of storing them, and oh, the joys of using white-out. When was the last time you used white-out!?
It's a frustration fest, and we've all been there. But here's where the ad shines: it leads us right into the arms of DocuSign, presenting it as the hero we've all been waiting for, ready to sweep away all these paper-related pains and make our lives a breeze.
Takeaways
Preparation is Key: The real magic of this video isn't just in its production. It's in the groundwork laid before any filming or editing starts. Understanding and clearly defining customer pain points is crucial, and this ad nails it.
DocuSign as the Hero: After setting up all these frustrations, the ad introduces DocuSign, not just as a solution but as the hero of the narrative. It's a smart move that positions DocuSign as the answer to a myriad of common problems.
Impactful, Minimal Copy: The use of minimal yet powerful copy throughout the ad works perfectly here. It makes the whole thing easy to digest and lets the viewer fully engage with each frustrating scenario. It's like they're saying, "We get it, and here’s how we can help." This approach ensures the message is clear, concise, and hits home hard.
